Lapse of Reason is a Hamilton covers band playing weddings, functions, conferences, hotels, and bars in the central North Island.

We cater to many different audiences and with a large selection of songs, both old and new and in-between we make sure the audience has a great time!

We're available to play for:

  • Local taverns and pubs
  • Chartered Clubs
  • Birthday Parties (21st, 30th, 40th etc)
  • Anniversary Parties
  • Corporate Events
  • Weddings
  • Private functions of any type!

Our style of music and performance is quite unique. Depending on what your event is about, or what type of folks will be there, we are able to modify our songlist to suit.

We also offer acoustic 2-piece and 3-piece and solo guitar!

We make sure your wedding day is extra special !!!

  • Set up during the afternoon so as not to interfere lugging equipment around while you are all having a meal
  • Classical / Jazz guitar played at the ceremony or during dinner/drinks
  • We're happy to meet up prior and coordinate things and/or learn a couple of specific songs if you would like a certain dance, or a classical rendition of the "up the aisle" number.
  • We offer a complete music solution for the entire day, including background music, Solo guitar , 2 or  3 piece acoustic in addition to the complete band!

Hi Justin !!!

When Glenn and I were looking for a band for our wedding a friend gave me the website address for Lapse of Reason.


I was really impressed with what I saw and so quickly made contact.

Justin was very friendly and willing to help with all our music needs which made our decision very easy.

I had also heard from many that they were a fantastic band so they were our choice.

Justin was happy to organise the music for our first dance, they played acoustic while guests were enjoying their drinks and nibbles and then when all the formalities were out of the way the band got the party started !!!

The music was perfect for all age groups! everyone was up dancing and singing because everyone knew the words to the great selection of songs.

I have had so much great feedback about our day and night.

So many have said how great the band was and that they really set the scene for a fantastic celebration.

They are a very talented, friendly, and easy going group.
